An aircraft has a network 24 based on the ARINC 664 part 7 protocol. An end system 34 has an interface to the network 48 to receive data frames on a port and a memory 46 to store the received frames. A processing module 30 configures a retrieval module 32 to transfer a subset of the frames into a memory, which is accessible to the processing module. The retrieval module transfers the frames without further action from the processing module. The end system, retrieval module and the processing module may be connected using a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) or peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) bus 36. The processing module may be an aircraft health monitoring unit. |
