Improvements in the manufacture of moulded porous products from plastic materials

A porous body is made by loosely distributing particles wetted with an aqueous dispersion of rubber, natural or artificial, and vulcanized or not, so that they adhere only at the points of contact. Suitable materials are, ground tyre carcases, granulated cork, leather, asbestos, sponge rubber, wood veneer, emery, cement, brick, stone, glass, slag, ashes, sand, &c., coarsely granulated. The material may be placed in a mould, or distributed over a surface, or on to a backing. The particles may be distributed by the process described in Specification 413,284.
