PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and speedily collect suspended matters belched into seawater when cleaning a filter layer.SOLUTION: A floating type suspended matter collection device 11 comprises: a floating body 21 which can be transferred to an upper water area 54 above a filter layer 51 where water intake piping 52 and a cleaning pipe 53 are buried; and collection means 31 which belches air or air-entrained water into the filter layer 51 through the cleaning pipe 53 and collects suspended matters, belched into the upper water area 54 above the filter layer 51 when cleaning the suspended matters causing clogging of the filter layer 51, together with bubbles 55 generated when cleaning the filter layer 51. The floating type suspended matter collection device 11 enables the filter layer to be installed in a sea area having little seawater flux due to tides and waves. The floating type suspended matter collection device 11 also can reliably prevent clogging of the filter layer even with a high seawater infiltration speed and maintain the high seawater infiltration speed. |
