An exhaust flow tube system 1 for use with emissions test equipment 4. The system comprises a primary and a secondary flow tube 21, 22, each configured to receive exhaust gases from an engine exhaust pipe 3 and to deliver them to emissions test equipment, a valve 11 configured to control the flow of exhaust gases through the secondary flow tube, and a control system 12 configured to receive a signal indicative of the flow rate or likely flow rate of exhaust gases from the engine exhaust, and to control the operation of the valve to alter the flow of exhaust gases through the secondary flow tube dependent on the signal. The signal indicative of the flow rate or likely flow rate may be received from the emissions test equipment. The flow tubes may have different cross-sectional areas. Further flow tubes, and further valves, may be provided. |
