PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining compatibility related to acquisition and setting of a character attribute between the image forming apparatus and an application with a conventional application capable of processing only a legacy encoding without changing the application.SOLUTION: An MFP (Multifunction Peripheral) 101 receives a character attribute setting command including character attribute information, character code information, and byte sequence information representing characters, and sets the character code information in the received character attribute setting command as a conversion character code for compatibility between character codes. The byte sequence information representing the characters in the character attribute setting command is converted and set depending on a character coding system of the character code information. |
