PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black filler capable of easily realizing blackness and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The provided black filler is obtained from a powder of composite particles obtained by compositing an organopolysiloxane and a vinyl polymer. The organopolysiloxane contains a condensate obtained from a trialkoxysilane expressed by RSi(OR). The vinyl polymer contains a vinyl polymer having nitrile groups. The black particles constituting the black filler contain, as a coloring substance, carbon generated by carbonizing organic components within the composite particles. The Y value of the black filler is 6% or below. The method for manufacturing the black filler includes a compositing step and a carbonizing step. In the compositing step, a vinyl monomer having nitrile groups is absorbed into particles including the condensate obtained from the trialkoxysilane, and the vinyl monomer having nitrile groups is subsequently polymerized. Organic components within the composite particles are carbonized in the carbonizing step. |
