[Class 81 (ii).] Vibratory exercising-apparatus of the kind in which rapid vertical vibrations can be imparted to a platform supporting the user comprises a platform carried at or near one end on a horizontal pivot and adapted to be oscillated about this axis by means acting on the platform at or near the end remote from the pivot. As shown, a base a carries a hand-rail c and a platform b pivoted at one end on the base a by a shaft e and having near the other end lugs f pivoted to which are connecting rods g embracing eccentrics h on a shaft i carrying a pair of flywheels j one of which is driven by a belt k from a pulley l on the motor shaft d. The user stands, or may sit astride, on the platform b. In modifications the connecting rods may fit over the upper sides of the eccentrics, a single connecting rod and eccentric may be used, a crank or cranks, which may be adjustable, may replace the eccentrics, or the platform may be vibrated by electromagnetic or pneumatic means. |
