[Class 18.] A carrier for electric batteries is provided with a rubber coating comprising a latex mixture to which a thickening medium consisting of or containing zinc carbonate and water glass has been added ; the mixture is applied to the carrier by dipping, spraying or painting. The mixture may be applied so as to give a seamless rubber coating to a built-up carrier or to the individual parts of the carrier prior to their assembly or the carrier may be made from a number of precoated parts so that it may be taken to pieces.
