Measuring a radar cross-section of an object (102, figure 1), i.e. an aircraft is achieved using an upright frame 114 with two ends attached to the ground 113. A measurement module 116 is attached to the frame 114 and has one or more radar antennas 510. The measurement module 116 moves along the frame 114 between the ends and rotates about an axis changing its orientation with respect to the frame 114. The rotation axis may be parallel to the ground 113. The measurement module 115 may have a housing 512 with an opening and one or more antennas 510 inside which may rotate around another axis. A cavity 117 may be recessed in the ground near the frame 114 and the frame 114 may be 10m high. The object (102, figure 1) may be supported above the ground 113 by a mounting structure which may have a rotating base, an elongate support with the object (102, figure 1) at its tip and a shroud around the support which contra-rotates to the bases rotation direction. |
