PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating the surface of magnesium or a magnesium alloy which uses simple treatment equipment and steps, reduces treatment costs and provides magnesium or a magnesium alloy having excellent designability and corrosion resistance, an acid cleaning agent, a conversion treatment agent and a conversion-treated structure produced by using them.SOLUTION: A method of treating the surface of magnesium or a magnesium alloy includes a step A of bringing an acidic acid cleaning agent containing a fluoride ion into contact with the surface of defatted magnesium or a defatted magnesium alloy to form a first transparent film containing magnesium fluoride on the surface and a step B of bringing a conversion treatment agent containing phosphoric acid, strontium ion and tungstate ion into contact with the surface of magnesium or the magnesium alloy formed with the first transparent film to form a second transparent film containing strontium phosphate, magnesium phosphate and magnesium tungstate on the surface. |
