A display substrate is disclosed. In one aspect, the display substrate includes a base substrate having a first refractive index and receiving external light and an insulating layer disposed below the base substrate and having a second refractive index different from the first refractive index. The display substrate also includes a pixel electrode disposed below the first insulating layer and a first compensation layer forming an interface with the insulating layer and having a third refractive index greater than the first refractive index and less than the second refractive index. The first compensation layer is disposed between the first insulating layer and the base substrate. |

1. A display substrate, comprising:
a base substrate having a first refractive index and configured to receive external light; a first insulating layer disposed below the base substrate and having a second refractive index different from the first refractive index, wherein the first insulating layer has an inherent reflective spectrum; a pixel electrode disposed below the first insulating layer; and a first compensation layer disposed between the first insulating layer and the base substrate, wherein an interface is defined between the first insulating layer and the first compensation layer, wherein the first compensation layer has a third refractive index greater than the first refractive index and less than the second refractive index, wherein the interface is configured to reflect a portion of the external light, wherein the light reflected from the interface has a reflective spectrum, and wherein the first compensation layer is configured to modify the inherent reflective spectrum of the first insulating layer to generate the reflective spectrum of the reflected light. |
