1. A trapped-field magnet (TFM) rotor comprising:
a rotor core having an axis of rotation and an outer perimeter, the rotor core defining a plurality of TFM-bulk openings around the axis of rotation and within the outer perimeter; and a plurality of TFM bulks disposed in the TFM-bulk openings of the rotor core; wherein the plurality of TFM-bulk openings comprises three or more TFM bulk openings disposed at equiangular intervals around the axis of rotation; wherein each TFM bulk has a first dimension in a radial direction that is greater than a second dimension in a second direction that is perpendicular to the radial direction; and wherein the rotor is configured to rotate within a stator.
