Certain embodiments provide a head array system for a power wheelchair, including a head array body and one or more lateral arms. The head array body includes shafts. Each of the shafts includes lateral arm receiving sections. The one or more lateral arms are detachably coupled to one of the lateral arm receiving sections of one of the shafts.

1. A head array system for a power wheelchair, comprising:
a head array body comprising:
a wheelchair mount configured to couple the head array body to the power wheelchair in a fixed position; anda plurality of shafts, wherein each of the shafts comprises a plurality of lateral arm receiving sections, wherein each of the plurality of lateral arm receiving sections is configured to receive one at least one lateral arm; the at least one lateral arm, wherein the at least one lateral arm is one or both of a solid rod and at least one hollow tube, the at least one lateral arm comprising a first end and a second end, the first end detachably coupled to one of the plurality of lateral arm receiving sections of one of the plurality of shafts, the second end of the at least one lateral arm positionable at a left side or a right side of a user head; and one or both of a switch and a sensor coupled to the second end of the at least one lateral arm.
