The present invention provides a compressed air filter (1) and a filter element (5) which is for separating foreign bodies from a compressed air stream and which has an element lower portion (6), an element upper portion (7) which has a neck portion (13) which forms a first flow channel (9) and a collar portion (14) which is constructed so as to extend at least partially around the neck portion (13) and which is connected to the neck portion (13) so as to form a second flow channel (10), and a filter medium (8) which is sealingly connected to the element lower portion (6) and the element upper portion (7) in order to form a gas flow path between the first flow channel (9) and the second flow channel (10) through the filter medium (8), the collar portion (14) having an abutment face (16), which is provided at least partially at the outer periphery and which tapers in the direction of the element lower portion (6), in order to receive an associated sealing ring (22) in such a manner that a force which acts substantially axially on the sealing ring (22) from the direction of the element lower portion (6) brings about radial expansion of the sealing ring (22) along the abutment face (16). |
