The sealing tape (1) has two opposing wide sides (2a, 2b) having two opposite contact surfaces for sealing a joint between a window or door frame and a masonry soffit, where the two wide sides are connected by two narrow sides (4a, 4b). A tape body (5) is impregnated with resilient flexible foam material, where the tape body runs along a longitudinal direction between an upper region (5a) and a lower region (5b). The tape body is impregnated such that the impregnation in the lower region is more intense than the impregnation in the upper region.
