The present invention relates to a variable displacement gear pump. The variable displacement gear pump, according to the present invention, moves one of the two gears which are engaged with each other inside a casing of a gear pump in the related art in the axial direction to vary the width by which the two gears are engaged with each other, thereby regulating a discharge rate. A gear ring for preventing fluid leakage is installed between a casing cover and the gear that moves outward from the casing according to the movement of the gear, or between the gear and a gear block, and a gear block for preventing fluid leakage is installed between the gear and the casing, or between the gear and a side surface of the gear. Further, a gear block hole through which the gear block passes is provided if necessary. The variable displacement gear pump, according to the present invention, can be used as a variable displacement gear motor as it is and can be used for a continuously variable transmission, a power distribution device, and the like. |
