A liquid crystal display and a liquid crystal display module thereof. The liquid crystal display module comprises a backlight unit (100), a liquid crystal display panel (200), and a quantum rod film (300) arranged between the backlight unit (100) and the liquid crystal display panel (200). The liquid crystal display panel (200) comprises: an upper substrate (210), a lower substrate (220), and an upper polarizer (230). Liquid crystals (240) are filled between the upper substrate (210) and the lower substrate (220). The upper polarizer (230) is arranged on the outer side of the upper substrate (210), that is, a light exit side of the liquid crystal display panel (200). The quantum rod film (300) is arranged specifically between the lower substrate (220) and the backlight unit (100). The liquid crystal display module employs a quantum rod material capable of emitting a polarized light in place of a conventional color filter and a lower polarizer, thus achieving the goal of high color contrast, high color saturation, low power consumption, and inexpensiveness for the liquid crystal display. |
