The present invention relates to the technical field of display, and provides a fingerprint recognition system and method, and a display apparatus, so as to simplify the operation of starting an application program by a user. The fingerprint recognition system comprises: a fingerprint recognition area provided on a touch screen, used for collecting an input fingerprint; a fingerprint verification module connected to the fingerprint recognition area, used for: verifying whether the input fingerprint is a fingerprint of a user, and if yes, unlocking the touch screen; and a program startup control module connected to the fingerprint recognition area and the fingerprint verification module, used for: obtaining a finger pressing direction according to the input fingerprint when the input fingerprint is the fingerprint of the user, and starting an application program corresponding to the finger pressing direction, the finger pressing direction being the direction in which the finger makes contact with the fingerprint recognition area in sequence when pressing the fingerprint recognition area, or the direction opposite to the direction, and each finger pressing direction corresponding to at least one application program. The fingerprint recognition system is used for unlocking a touch screen and starting an application program. |
