[Problem] To provide a fluorescent body–containing film and a backlight unit that can suppress deterioration of the fluorescent body and can be manufactured with high efficiency. [Solution] A fluorescent body–containing film (1) is obtained which includes: a first substrate film (10); and a fluorescent body–containing layer (30) in which a plurality of regions (35) that include fluorescent bodies (31) which deteriorate by reacting with oxygen when exposed to oxygen are disposed discretely upon the first substrate film (10), and a resin layer (38) that is impervious to oxygen is disposed between the regions (35) including the discretely disposed fluorescent bodies (31). The span S of the resin layer (38) between the regions (35) including the fluorescent bodies (31) is 0.01 ≤ S < 0.5 mm. The ratio of the volume Vp of the regions (35) including the fluorescent bodies (31) in the fluorescent body–containing layer (30) to the sum of the volume Vp and the volume Vb of the resin layer (38) is 0.1 ≤ Vp/(Vp+Vb) < 0.9.
