[Class 145 (i)] [See also Group XXVIII] In a machine for shaping the ends of mine props &c., the rotary cutter comprises a cylindrical portion 6 provided with blades 6a which cut the saddle 9, and cone frustra 5 provided with blades 5<a> which make lateral cuts 7. The cutter is enclosed in a casing 10 and the air current set up by the blades 5a, 6a expels the cuttings through a discharge duct 11 in the frame 1. The prop 8 is carried by a V-shaped saddle 12 adjusted by a screw 13 ; the projection of the prop into the machine is limited by a stirrup member 15 adjusted by screw 16.</p> |
