A display substrate, manufacturing method thereof and display device. The display substrate comprises: a base substrate (101), gate lines (102) and data lines (103) crossly arranged on the base substrate (101) and pixel units formed by the gate lines (102) and data lines (103) and arranged in a matrix. The pixel unit is provided with a thin film transistor, pixel electrode and common electrode therein. The pixel electrode and the common electrode are insulated and disposed in the same layer. The pixel electrode comprises multiple strip-shaped subpixel electrodes (104). The common electrode comprises multiple strip-shaped sub-common electrodes (105). The multiple strip-shaped subpixel electrodes (104) and the multiple strip-shaped sub-common electrodes (105) are arranged alternately, and each subpixel electrode (104) and an adjacent sub-common electrode thereof has a spacing 1-5 μm wide. The display substrate addresses the problem of low charging efficiency in a large-sized display panel.
