The present invention pertains to a wheel bearing device in which: a metal ring (12) which is fitted onto a base (6b) of a wheel mounting flange (6) and with which a seal member (14) is in sliding contact is provided with a cylindrical fitting section (12a) externally fitted onto a shoulder (4e) of a hub wheel (4), a first and second bent section (12b, 12c) formed with a bend in two steps from the fitting section, a disk section (12d) that extends radially outward from the second bent section (12c) and is in close contact with a side surface (6c) of the wheel mounting flange (6), and an umbrella section (12e) that is spaced axially apart from the vehicle mounting flange (6) starting from the outer diameter section of the disk section and that extends by inclining radially outward; an elastic member (15) is integrally bonded by vulcanization adhesion over the umbrella section (12e) from the disk section (12d) and is in elastic contact with the side surface (6c); and the length of the first bent section (12b) of the metal ring (12) is set so as to be shorter than the length of the second bent section (12c). Due to this configuration, the present invention makes it possible to ensure a sealed space and improve the sealing performance, and also to maintain bearing performance over the long term. |
