Provided is an electric brake system in which operating noise and power consumption can be reduced without affecting the motion of a vehicle by controlling the switching of responsiveness according to the responsiveness considered to be required for an electric brake. The electric brake system is provided with one or a plurality of electric brake devices (3) having a control calculation means (12) which performs a tracking control of a target braking force. The electric brake system has a response request determination means (14) which estimates the responsiveness required for a brake actuator (4) on the basis of both or either of a braking request output from a brake operating means or a safe travel control means of a vehicle and traveling state information of the vehicle. The electric brake system has a control switching means (15) which changes a control calculation equation used for the tracking control by the control calculation means (12) according to the responsiveness estimated by the response request determining means (14). |
