PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide primarily a thermal recording body which has excellent water resistance and chemical resistance, and does not require an aging treatment.SOLUTION: Provided is a thermal recording body comprising: a thermal recording layer formed on a substrate, containing an electron donating compound and an electron accepting compound; and a protective layer formed on the thermal recording layer, containing an adhesive. The protective layer contains polyvinyl alcohol as an adhesive, having a saponification degree of 85 to 90 mole% and a polymerization degree of 2000 to 5000 in a content ratio of 2 to 20 mass% relative to the total solid content of the adhesive. Further, the protective layer contains a copolymer resin as an adhesive, containing (meth)acrylonitrile and a vinyl monomer copolymerizable with (meth)acrylonitrile and having a solubility parameter of 12.0 or more. The copolymer resin contains as the vinyl monomer at least one carboxyl group-containing vinyl monomer in a content ratio of 1 to 10 mass% relative to the total solid content of the copolymer resin. |
