PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging device and a control method for preventing increase of a weight and costs to secure an insulation property.SOLUTION: A charging device for charging a battery 1 with power from an alternating current power supply source has: a motor 50 having a multiple coil; a first inverter; a second inverter; a circuit part for improving a power factor of alternating current power to be input; and a control part for controlling the first inverter, the second inverter and the circuit part. The control part increases voltage of the battery 1 using the circuit part when the motor is driven by the power of the battery 1, so as to output the power to at least one of the first and second inverters from the circuit part. The control part makes the power supplied from the alternating current power supply smooth using the circuit part when the battery is charged with the power output from the first inverter using the alternating current power supply source, so as to output the power to the second inverter from the circuit part. |
