PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which can perform futon compression with a futon compression bag without difficulty.SOLUTION: A vacuum cleaner has: a cleaner body 21 including an electric blower 2; a dust collection chamber 23 for collecting dust sucked through a suction port 33; an outside air inlet 34 for introducing outside air; and an air duct switch valve 11 for switching a first intake path 35 communicating with the suction port 33 via the dust collection chamber 23 from an intake side of the electric blower 2 and a second intake path 36 communicating with the outside air inlet 34 not via the dust collection chamber 23 from the intake air side of the electric blower 2. Normally, operation is performed in the first intake path 35 and when the state in which a current value flowing in the electric blower 2 is below a first prescribed value continues for a prescribed period of time, the path is switched to the second intake path 36. For example, when the first prescribed value is set substantially identical to a current value when there is substantially no suction air flown into the electric blower 2, the path is switched to the second intake path 36 after performing sufficient futon compression, so that the air does not flow back in the futon compression bag (not shown in Figure). |
