PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermochromic writing utensil which allows stable frictional operation using a friction portion of an operation part.SOLUTION: A writing body 3 storing thermochromic ink inside is housed in a barrel 2 so as to be movable in a longitudinal direction, and a pen point 31 of the writing body 3 can protrude and retract through a front end hole 21 of the barrel 2. A writing utensil includes a pen point drying prevention mechanism 8 which closes the front end hole 21 in accordance with backward movement of the writing body 3 and seals the pen point 31 in a pen point recessed state in the barrel 2. The writing utensil further includes a protruding and retracting mechanism which causes the pen point 31 to be a protruded state to the outside through the front end hole 21 by protruding an operation part 7 backward from a rear end of the barrel 2 and pressing the operation part 7 forward. A friction portion which can thermally discolor handwriting by the thermochromic ink by friction heat generated when rubbing the handwriting by the thermochromic ink is provided on an outer surface at a rear end of the operation part 7. A grip portion which can be grasped in the friction using the friction portion is provided on an outer side surface of the operation part 7. |
