[Class 132 (ii)] A golf tee comprises a pointed metal pin a with an enlarged head b and drilled with a hole c to take a twisted or stranded flexible wire stem d carrying a cup-like head e of rubber, leather, metal or fibre. The inner end of the stem d is enlarged at its end, for instance, by making an eye f in the wire, to frictionally grip the interior of the pin in any adjusted position. The head b of the pin has a hole g therein which is smaller than the hole in the pin to prevent loss of stem, but is large enough to permit the stem to slide therein. According to the Provisional Specification, the end of the stem is provided with a knob or projection to prevent withdrawal from the pin, and the pin may have a collar fitted or screwed in the upper end. Also different length stems may be used or a series of recesses may be provided in the side of the pin with which the knob or projection on the end of the stem may resiliently engage.</p> |
