A method and facility for managing a car park 100, wherein the car park 100 is scanned by a sensor 125 in the region of a plurality of parking places 120. One of the parking places 120 may be designed for the parking of a plurality of vehicles 110, said vehicles being arranged freely within this place. A number of available places 120 may be determined, and the sensor 125 may be disposed above the parking places 120, and movable in a horizontal direction above the car park 100. A number of sensors 125 may be provided, and each may use a different scanning principle. |
