Provided is a cancer evaluation method which enables the highly accurate estimation of the risk of suffering from cancer in a subject, does not have disadvantages of early degeneration and high cost which are normally associated with a method utilizing an amino acid concentration in blood, and can be readily applied to a mass medical examination. The method comprises: step S1 of measuring the concentrations of elements of interest in a serum sample 2 collected from a subject; step S2 of assigning the data on the measured concentrations of the elements to a predetermined determination function to perform a calculation; and step S3 of determining whether or not any type of cancer is developed in the subject on the basis of the calculation results that are obtained using the data on the concentrations and the determination function. The determination is carried out in accordance with the balance (pattern) of the concentrations of the elements. It is preferred that the elements are 7 elements, i.e., S, P, Mg, Zn, Cu, Ti and Rb, or 16 elements, i.e., Na, Mg, Al, P, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu, Se, Rb, Ag, Sn and S. |
