PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance intensity of an upper member which is formed by integrating a front pillar upper and roof side rail.SOLUTION: An upper member 16 comprising a front pillar upper 16a and a roof side rail 16b in an integrated state, is formed of a metallic hollow tube having a uniform cross-section in a longitudinal direction. A cross-sectional shape of the upper member 16 comprises a polygonal cross-section shaped body part 59 and a reinforcement part 60 having a smaller cross-sectional shape smaller than that of the body part 59 and continuous to a lower face of the body part 59, so that when low load is applied to the upper member 16 due to collision load of front collision, the reinforcement part 60 disposed in a bending direction inside efficiently supports compression load. Therefore, bending intensity of the upper member 16 can be enhanced, and when high load is applied, the polygonal cross-section shaped body part 59 is collapsed in a vertical direction on a ridge line a, and therefor the load is absorbed. |
