[Class 44] [See also Group X] A holder for the cords or chains of a lifting and lowering device comprises members attached to the cords &c., and adapted to be expanded into frictional holding engagement with a tubular guide b by means of wedge surfaces on its two spring-pressed parts f<1>, f<3>. The device is shown as a window regulator attached to the cord of the top sash, the tubular guide being fixed to the top and bottom rails of the lower sash. The device is released by pressure on the grips j<1>, j<2>, for adjusting the top sash, the sashes being balanced one against the other when the device is engaged with the tube. The grips project through a slit in the tube b. In a modification, one grip only is provided pivoted to one part of the holder and operatively engaging the second, and a sleeve surrounds the tube, being connected to the holder by screws passing through the slit in the tube b. An antifriction roller is inserted between the two parts f<1>, f<3>. |
