PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a membrane electrode assembly capable of suppressing occurrence of wrinkles, dimensional variation, sheet curl, and the like, due to deformation in both an electrolyte membrane and first and second transfer substrates, respectively, and to provide a manufacturing apparatus of a membrane electrode assembly.SOLUTION: By bringing a cathode electrode catalyst layer 5 and a polymer electrolyte membrane 1 into contact while heating, by using a columnar stage 6 and a planar stage 7, the cathode electrode catalyst layer 5 is stuck to one side of the polymer electrolyte membrane 1, and the polymer electrolyte membrane 1 is moved from the planar stage 7 to the columnar stage 6. Furthermore, by bringing an anode electrode catalyst layer 3 and the polymer electrolyte membrane 1 into contact while heating, by using the columnar stage 6 and the planar stage 7, the anode electrode catalyst layer 3 is stuck to the other side of the polymer electrolyte membrane 1, and an anode side transfer substrate having the anode electrode catalyst layer 3 is moved from the planar stage 7 to the columnar stage 6. |
