The present invention provides a display method for use in vehicle comprising obtaining information associated with a vehicle or image data for a region ahead of the vehicle. This data is then displayed as a graphical representation of either at least one component of the vehicle having one or characteristics based on the information associated with the vehicle, or a representation of the image data. The data representation may be arranged to overlie a portion of the vehicle to be indicative of a portion of the vehicle being at least partly transparent. It may also be in the form of a heads up display(HUD) and may overlie either the interior or exterior of the vehicle. The information displayed may include the speed of the vehicle in which case a delay is introduced into a portion of the data displayed and may be aligned with a region ahead of the vehicle. The invention may find particular application when using a vehicle off-road.
