PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanotube generation substrate that can suppress the decrease in generation rate of carbon nanotube even for cases of re-use.SOLUTION: A carbon nanotube generation substrate comprising a substrate 1 and a catalyst layer 4 disposed on the substrate 1, in which it is characterized in that the catalyst layer 4 comprises: a plurality of catalyst particles 2; and a plurality of barrier particles 3 not contributing to the generation of carbon nanotubes, and that the plurality of barrier particles 3 are disposed between a plurality of catalyst particles 2 as well as that the average particle diameter of catalyst particles 2 is less than or equal to that of the plurality of barrier particles 3. |
