PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new and improved object tracking device and object tracking method capable of performing object tracking not affected by occlusion.SOLUTION: An object tracking device is provided to solve the above problem according to a view of the present invention, which is characterized in including: an edge information generation part for extracting edge information from an input image; a weight map generating part for generating a weight map in which the weight in the periphery of the edge is larger on the basis of the edge; a particle generation part for generating a plurality of particles having a plurality of local edges whose arrangements are different from each other on the basis of the weight map; and a tracking target detection part for detecting a tracking target from the input image on the basis of the particles. |
