The maneuvering drive has a fastening unit (5) for fastening to the trailer, a carrier (3) movable to the fastening unit and a drive motor (1) held by the carrier. A drive roller (2) is rotationally driven by the drive motor. The drive motor is a brushless electric motor with an external rotor (9). A transmission unit (4) is provided in force flow between the drive motor and the drive roller. A rotor information-detecting unit is provided for obtaining an information about the position and movement of the outer rotor.
