A battery module(1) according to one embodiment includes a stack(50) of batter y cells(500). The battery module(1) also includes a fitting portion provided with at least one of a concave portion or a convex portion formed on a stack surface of each of the battery cells(500) of the stack(50). The battery module(1) further includes: a first frame (100) which is fitted with one side surface of the stack(50) and constrains the battery ce Ils(500) in a stacking direction; a second frame(110) which is fitted with another side su rface of the stack(50) and constrains the battery cells(500) in the stacking direction; an d press members(30) located at respective ends of the stack(50) and connected to the first frame(100) and the second frame(110). The press members(30) are configured to generate an urging force for pressing electrode members(590) of the battery cells(500) from outside the battery cells(500).
