A rivet 11 for fastening workpiece members comprises a body 13 comprising a shank 17 extending in a first, longitudinal direction and a head 21 extending in a second, substantially transversal direction, a bore being defined through the shank 17 and the head 21 of the body 13 and, a stem 15 comprising a main longitudinal portion arranged for insertion into said bore, the stem 15 having an enlarged portion arranged for radially expanding the shank when the enlarged portion 27 is forced into said bore to fasten the workpiece members. The rivet 11 is configured for insertion into respective apertures formed in the workpiece members; When, in use, the workpiece members are fastened, the head 21 of the body 13 of the rivet 11 is displaced relative to the shank 17 to engage with the stem 15 to lock the stem 15 in place relative to the body 13 and/or the workpiece members. |
