Provided are: a drying apparatus; a drying method; and a program and an image forming apparatus for drying, by which deformation of a medium is prevented, the prolonging of a drying duration is suppressed, and a good dried state of the medium is obtained. When drying by heat radiation and drying by air blowing are performed on a medium (P) to be dried, drying conditions are set as follows: heat radiation by a heat radiation drying part (73A) is relatively decreased for a thin medium and relatively increased for a thick medium; the blow temperature at at least an upstream blow drying part(73C) is set to be in a temperature range corresponding to the surface temperature of the medium during or after drying by the heat radiation drying part; and the blow volume at the upstream blow drying part is increased for a thin medium and decreased for a thick medium. |
