[Class 131] In an eyelash curler or crimper of the kind comprising an upper stationary jaw 23 fixed to supporting levers 18, and a lower movable jaw 20 connected by a link to, and operated by, a lever 11 which crosses and is pivoted to the supporting levers, such as described in Specifications 336,872, [Class 131], and 398,749, the link connecting the operating lever 11. and the movable jaw 20 is cranked intermediate its length to increase the clearance between the link and the supporting levers, thus allowing an increased opening of the jaws. As shown, the link comprises diverging branches 24 25 engaging the end 14 of the operating lever 11 and connected by rearwardly cranked portions to branches 26, 27 connected to the jaw 20. The branches 26, 27 are connected by a reinforcing member 28. The jaw 20 carries a rubber strip 22 and is provided at the ends with sleeves 21 engaging the supporting levers 18. The handle portions of the levers 11, 18 are each constructed of a single piece of metal wire bent to form finger loops 12, 17 continued in juxtaposed members 15, 16 laterally spaced for a portion of their lengths to facilitate enamelling. |
