A mallet for use in a game, the mallet 40 comprising a shaft 41, said shaft 41 being connected at one end to a mallet head 42. The mallet head 42 comprises a first planar strike face 43 the plane of the first strike face 43 being parallel to that of the shaft axis, and a second planar oblique strike face 44 also parallel to the shaft axis, the angle between and first and oblique planar strike faces being between 0 and 90 degrees.
