PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus configured to reduce the influence of shot noise, to detect an edge of a subject properly.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: light projection means 20 which emits light; imaging means 30 which outputs a luminance image; image storage means 40 for storing the luminance image; synchronous detection means 10 which performs synchronous detection on the luminance image, to generate a detection-processed image; profile storage image 10 which stores distribution information of signal intensity of an image signal to be caused by a light component emitted from the light projection means 20, as profile information; correction means 10 which corrects luminance of the detection-processed image on the basis of the profile information; and edge extraction means 10 which extracts an edge of a subject from the detection-processed image. The correction means 10 increases luminance correction degree in a position having lower signal intensity, and reduces the luminance correction degree in a position having higher signal intensity. |
