PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel thermoelectric conversion material used suitably for an n-type thermoelectric conversion element in a temperature region as high as 600°C.SOLUTION: A thermoelectric conversion material according to the present invention comprises a BaGaAlSi based clathrate compound as a matrix, and phases including Sm or Bi and distributed in the matrix phase of the clathrate compound. The clathrate compound is expressed by the chemical formula, BaGaAlSiX(where X=Sm or Bi; 7≤a≤9; 7≤b≤15; 1≤c≤8; 28≤d≤33; 0≤e≤1; and a+b+c+d+e=54). |
