The invention provides a luminescence analysis device which can avoid overheating of an ignition transformer and a switch element under the condition that a luminescence seat does not generate discharge and is in short circuit state. When a switch element driving portion (15) is connected to a switch element (4) in order to cause discharge, the switch element (4) is cut off in a polarity-reversal period of current passing through a primary coil (3a) of an ignition transformer (3). Accordingly, LC resonance ends in one period of a resonant period. In addition, through a damping circuit (8) in parallel connection with the primary coil (3a) of an ignition transformer (3), the current reversely passing through the primary coil (3a) in resonance is restrained. Accordingly, even under the condition that the luminescence seat does not generate discharge and is in short circuit state, electricity wastage of the ignition transformer (3) and the switch element (4) can be reduced so as to restrain heating. |
