A shopping facility assistance system comprises a plurality of motorized transport units and a plurality of corresponding user interface units. The central computer system wirelessly communicates with those user interface units via a network interface and controls movement of those motorized transport units through a retail shopping facility while also receiving a voice input from a user via a particular one of the user interface units that is associated with a particular one of the motorized transport units. The central computer system then determines, using voice recognition, that the voice input comprises, at least in part, an inquiry regarding product pricing. The central computer system then responsively provides a voiced output via the corresponding user interface that is responsive to the inquiry.
