Comb polymer comprising acrylic acid structural units (I), (II) and (III), is new. Comb polymer comprising acrylic acid structural units of formula (-CH(R11)-C(R12)(C(=O)-OM)-) (I), (-CH(R11)-C(R12)(C(=O)-O-R1)-) (II), and (-CH(R11)-C(R12)(C(=O)-(O-CH(R3)-CH(R4)) x-Z-(CH(CH 3)-CH 2-O) w-(CH 2-CH 2-O) y-R4)-) (III), where the molar proportion ratio of (I), (II) and (III) is (0.1-0.9)/(0-0.4)/(0.1-0.9), preferably (0.4-0.8)/(0.05-0.25)/(0.1-0.4) with a condition that the total weights of (I), (II) and (III) is 1, is new. M : H +>, alkali metal ion, alkaline earth metal ion, di- or trivalent metal ion, NH 4 +>or organic ammonium group; R12 : H or CH 3; R11 : H or COOM; R1 : 1-20C alkyl, 1-20C cycloalkyl, 1-20C alkylaryl or -[AO] n-R2; A : 2-4C alkylene; R2 : 1-20C alkyl, 1-20C cyclohexyl or 1-20C alkaryl; n : 2-300; R3 : 1-5C alkyl, preferably CH 3, ethyl or isopropyl; R4 : H, 1-5C alkyl, preferably H; R5 : 1-20C alkyl or 7-20C alkylaryl; Z : O or N-R6; R6 : H, 1-20C alkyl or 7-20C alkylaryl; x : 1-4; y : 2-250; and w : 0-5.
