[Class 107] [See also Group XI] A kerb 1, or like road edging, is provided in its upper part with a primary light source 4 which directs light downwardly on to a reflecting surface on the vertical or substantially vertical outer face 2. The light source, which may be Neon tubing, may be arranged beneath an overhanging ridge 3 formed integral with the kerb which is of metal and of box-like structure. The reflecting surface may be of glass or similar material and the inner faces of the ridge 3 may also be provided with reflecting surfaces. The kerb may be constructed from stone or concrete and may be solid or hollow, and the source of light may be housed upon a separate part attached to the exterior of the kerb. The Provisional Specification describes also a construction wherein the light source is arranged inside a hollow kerb, the outer face of the kerb having narrow slots through which the light is directed.
