[Class 17 (ii)] [See also Group VIII] Part or the whole of the vamp or quarter portions of footwear is made of a kind of knitted material having a top layer formed from narrow leather-like, lacquered or glossy straps b and a bottom layer formed by threads, cords or tapes a, the two layers being united by threads c. Fabric prepared in this way is suitable, on account of the ventilation provided, for summer footwear. It may be cut without fraying of the material and may be tacked by machine direct on a last without requiring a lining. A sole may be stuck on to the lasted upper. |
