This receiving device is provided with: an EOTF processing unit that converts an image signal of a first color gamut by using an EOTF; a color gamut converting unit that converts the color gamut of the image signal converted by the EOTF processing unit, from the first color gamut to a second color gamut; and an OETF processing unit that converts the result of the conversion performed by the color gamut converting unit, by using an OETF which is the inverse function of the gamma of a reference display in broadcasting. Further, for example, the EOTF is the inverse function of the OETF. |
